Pansy does not have a TV.
So when she wants to watch soccer, she goes to a pub.
So off to Cresta she went to watch the Champions League final...overlooking the fact that it was also the Super 14 semi-final. South Africa may be hosting the world cup in a couple of weeks, but rugby rules. Everywhere she went they were showing the rugby: Dros (her usual soccer venue), Mug and Bean...heck, she even tried Spur - that's getting really desperate considering she's 83% vegetarian.
Just as despair was starting to set in, she noticed some soccer reflecting off a window at The Sitar.
The friendly hostess had no objection to her sitting in the lounge and watching the game.
The Sitar is an Indian restaurant at Cresta. Pansy doesn't normally go to shopping mall restaurants because they are...well...at shopping malls. However The Sitar's food, service, décor and ambience more than make up for its location.
The split-level restaurant has a pleasant layout: the lower level has a small waiting lounge at the entrance and an enclosed section which serves as a private dining room, seating up to twenty-four people. The upper level is the main restaurant and has eighteen tables.
The soccer was a disappointment, as Pansy is a staunch Bayern fan. However, The Sitar's Gulab Jamun and Masala Tea were the perfect accompaniment for a chilly Johannesburg evening.
