Timeslive has a lot of witty readers that post comments on news articles. Responding to an article about the snow, someone wrote, "I'm in Sandton, I didn't see any snow."
To which another reader replied, "The snow is in Soweto. Anyway Sandton doesn't need snow from the sky because the people there have enough of the synthetic variety."
That remark was kinda funny, but also sad in a way. Johannesburg is notorious for the drug use amongst professionals, especially the really expensive drugs. Maybe that's how they cope with the long hours? Petal never understands where her colleagues get their unlimited verve and stamina. They seem to be fine with about 3 hours of sleep.
But what of friends and family of drug users? There are a lot more support groups for friends and family in Cape Town than in Johannesburg.
Why is that? No idea. Maybe the people in Joburg are too busy working and shopping. Pity, coz these groups really work. Luckily for Pansy, there is a group just a short 10 minute drive from where she lives.
Well, now we're in November and it's extremely hot and dry for this time of year. The heat hasn't melted the snow, though. It's still snowing from Soweto to Sandton.
